As you know I’ve been working on a new website layout. I keep changing my mind and starting over, which makes for a very long process. I’ve decided that I’m going with a 40’s theme while using the taraleeburns.com logo to the right. In my research on old media, I found the following website and it is quite amazing. I can’t believe some of the artwork people did by hand for these ads, let alone the contents of some of the ads. For me, the one that stood out was about an electric dog washer. I had no idea, but apparently they were discontinued because of unforeseen problems! Visit http://www.plan59.com/ for some really amazing artwork, history, and laughs.
I neglected to say that I got a Jawbone for my birthday. So far I haven’t experienced any success with the noise filter. On the website and through friends I heard that the person on the receiving end hears you flawlessly, but that is not my experience. Wind seems to be the worst noise culprit, aside from the busy streets of the city. This was the whole point of getting it and I’m pretty disappointed in its usage so far. I also don’t like the fact that you have to press through the plastic to turn it on/off. I never know when I’ve actually pressed the button and if you press it while in your ear, you hear a deafening beep. There is a certain amount of seconds you have to wait for certain functions and I never really know what I’ve done to it; lights blink and sometimes they don’t. I’ve read the whole little manual and everything seems pretty simple and self explanatory, however, I seem to be missing something. This is my first Bluetooth ear piece and I was very excited about it, so maybe it’s just that I don’t have anything to compare it to and that my expectations were too high. I also have deformed ears apparently, because the actual insert that is supposed to stay in my ear keeps popping out. I’ve changed the ear pieces to see if that helps, but it only hinders.
I realize I am a little confusing with all my periods and question marks, but that is exactly what everyone seems to be talking about. Is it OK for women to have NO PERIOD? To me, it sounds like a godsend, but at the same time it seems unhealthy. We get our periods to flush out unnecessary tissue needed for pregnancy, right? They have just issued a pill that will stop your periods all together, filling your body with continuous hormones so that you don’t get your period. Read more here in Forbes.
Personally, I have problems with pumping my body full of things it doesn’t need and feel like this could be another thing that they say will not harm you one day and turns out it causes some sort of cancer. I guess you could say I have my qualms about BCPs for the same reason. However, I do think it’s important for women to be able to choose what is right for their body - more power to those women who hang up their maxi pads.
Two of my friends this month have had little bundles! One of my best friends, Dawn had a beautiful little girl, Alexa Lynn, on Mothers Day and Keith’s best friend’s wife Jessica had a beautiful little girl, Alexis Rose, on Monday. All four of them went through some hard times this month and I just wanted to congratulate both families and their new additions!
On a weirder note:
- It’s weird to have friends have babies.
- It’s weird that these two babies of friends of mine have very similar names and were born in the same month.
- It’s weird that I don’t really have any desire to house a young one for 9 months and pop it out and watch it grow.
- It’s weird that my sisters baby has a tooth already.
- This whole pregnancy/mommy thing…it’s weird.
