I create performances and installations with projected films, photos, objects, dance and the human body to create worlds that intertwine reality and fantasy. Photo and video often serve as a way to create multiple vantage points of a single idea. I'm interested in the complex layers and spontaneous moments achieved when media elements are combined with movement and humans in live performance. In addition, I often invite the viewer into my process by creating interactive or informative websites including short films, photos, archives and text.
I want the viewer to see physical action in a non-competitive sphere and to see the beauty behind sweat, practice and imperfection. I want to submerge the viewer in projections, textures and still images as they walk through a space filled with performers, structures and video. I want the viewer to come away with a visceral response, a guttural reaction or an "ah-ha" moment.
