Quick Making and Performing with Emily Craver

In the past two semesters I’ve had the chance to both witness and work with Emily Craver, a fellow 2nd year MFA. We were experimenting with chat bot conversations, gif loops, and using code as a way of choreographing.

The first semester turned into a dance representation of computing concepts.

The second semester the computing concepts began to take the forefront through Isadora patches she created that lead the audience to interludes with the performers.

What is exciting about Emily’s process? She’s a quick fire choreographer spouting off ideas to try out in rehearsals. Agency is allowed. The stakes are low and she really trusts the performers.
